Alexandra, a native of Mexico City, has lived in New York City since 2000. After getting a BS in nutrition, she earned her masters in food studies from New York University. She subsequently studied pastry at the New York Restaurant School and worked at the James Beard Foundation. In 2005, she co-founded Sweet Atelier, where she created one-of-a- kind custom cakes for high profile clients in New York City.
